Early morning fire at Kermit claims one

KERMIT - An early morning fire resulted in the death of a Mingo County woman Tuesday.
According to Sgt. Dotson of the West Virginia State Police, the fire occurred in the Gray Eagle community near Kermit.
Dotson said 49-year-old Patricia Jennings was home alone when the fire started. Jennings died of smoke inhalation, preliminary reports show.
The fire appears to have been accidental.
Eric Sartin, Chief of the Kermit Volunteer Fire Department, said his department responded with 10 firefighters and one truck.
