The 44-year-old actress is bothered by the lack of what young stars are able to get away with in the public eye, compared to when she started in the business decades ago. "There's the express elevator and there's rehab," People Magazine quoted her as telling Vanity Fair. "It's so awful. Nobody gets a fair trial-and-error period that everybody deserves and everybody needs. "The business is so different. You can never be that new girl [who] has that moment of, 'Where'd she come from?'" she said. Julia Roberts portrayed her and her achievements in the 2000 film 'Erin Brockovich,' but it seems the famous legal clerk and activist has by no means rested on her laurels after it was reported that Brockovich and her team were investigating a mysterious chain of incidents in the Le Roy region of New York after several teenagers contracted an illness that's symptoms involved facial tics and Tourettes-style verbal outbursts. It's thought that the symptoms first started to occur in adolescents in the area last August and has grown to a level that the famed activist was bombarded with around a hundred emails from worried parents requesting to check the situation out. Talking to USA Today, the 51 year-old said that she was studying federal and state reports of a 1970 train derailment in the area that spilled cyanide and trichloroethene three miles away from the school where the cases have been reported. Theater buffs have been curious for a while now about the cinematic fate of August: Osage County," Tracy Letts' 2008 Pulitzer Prize-winning family drama that has been in development as a movie for several years. Now the film project--which would have Meryl Streep as pill-popping matriarch Violet Weston and Julia Roberts as her complicated adult daughter Barbara--looks to finally be taking a step forward. An executive at the Weinstein Co., which owns rights to and has been developing the movie, said that a September schedule-opening for both Streep and Roberts could allow the movie to begin shooting in the fall. The executive, Weinstein Co. COO David Glasser, said the goal was for the film to wrap production by the end of 2012 and come out in the 2013 autumn awards season.
