Broken Arrow Woman Gets Taste Of Stardom As Double For Julia Roberts
A Broken Arrow woman is getting a taste of Hollywood.
Monika MacIntyre has acted in local commercials for several years, but when producers for August: Osage County called, it was a dream come true for one of Oklahoma's Own.
Julia Roberts is one of the stars of film being shot in and around Bartlesville.
Monika MacIntyre is a Julia Roberts look-a-like, at least from a distance, she said.
"I guess we have the same measurements, about the same height and weight, and we have the same hair. That's about it, I think," MacIntyre said.

Her real job is as a personal assistant, but MacIntyre also dabbles as an actress.
So when she got a call that the movie August: Osage County was looking for someone to stand-in for Julia Roberts, she immediately sent in a picture.
"Tried to look as much like her as I could in the picture," she said.
Next thing you know she gets a message on her voicemail, asking if she'd be available to be Julia Roberts' double.
A day later, MacIntyre was on the set in Osage County, working alongside Meryl Streep, Chris Cooper, and Ewan McGregor.
"They would chat, they would walk by and say hi, wave. They would chat with each other in between takesthings like that. It was really fun just to see them as normal people," MacIntyre said.
MacIntyre has two jobs. One is as a stand-in, that's someone who stands in place of the actress while the crew sets up lights and the camera.
The other is as a body double. MacIntyre physically resembles Julia Roberts, so they might use her hands or film her from behind, while another actor acts out their scene.

"I might see the back of my head in the movie and I'll probably be the only one who knows that that's me," she said, laughing.
Julia Roberts has a lengthy Hollywood resume and has been named as one of the most beautiful people in the world 11 times by People Magazine.
MacIntyre's never been in that magazine but she has graced the cover of Tulsa People.
She's long been a fan of Julia Roberts, but she is quick to put down any notion that they qualify as twins.
"I passed just enough just to do stand-in, but definitely don't consider myself in her league at all," MacIntyre said.
MacIntyre is permanently on call while the movie is being filmed. She doesn't know when they'll need her again.
Her husband was also a stand-in for Ben Affleck when he filmed a movie in Pawhuska a couple of years ago.
