First look: Julia Roberts for Lancme La Vie Est Belle

Julia Roberts' latest campaign images for Lancme's newest fragrance, La Vie Est Belle have been revealed - and we've got an exclusive behind the scenes video of the shoot.

For the past two years Julia has been the face of the French beauty brand, but La Vie Est Belle is her first fragrance campaign for Lancme. Described as the first "feminine iris", the scent was created by three masters of the perfume world - Olivier Polge, Dominique Ropion and Anne Flipo.

Containing almost 50% natural ingredients, the perfume is a sweet and fruity blend of blackcurrant, pear, tonka bean, praline and patchouli, housed in a bottle created in 1949 by artistic director George Delhomme for Armand Petitjean, Lancme's founder.

The first video advert for the fragrance, released back in August, was shot by Mirror Mirror director Tarsem Singh, and showed Julia in an ethereal white dress, walking through a crowded LA party.

The latest campaign returns to Hollywood, where Julia is photographed poolside in an LA mansion, wearing a black maxi dress and a beautiful monochrome tunic. The actress wore a classic smoky eye on the shoot, created using Lancme Hypnse Star mascara, Lancme Teint Miracle foundation, and Lancme Absolu Rouge lipstick.

Youcef Nabi, president of Lancme International said that Julia was the only woman who could embody the fragrance's "joyful femininity". Julia said that she loves the bottle, telling Hello! magazine: "In this day and age when everything's about the brand and everything's got the name of the company and the person and the place stamped all over it, what I think is amazing is that there's nothing written on the bottle".
